Frequently Asked Questions

Should I hire a quartet, trio, duo, or soloist?

This decision should be based on your personal preference and your budget.  A quartet, trio, duo, or soloist can work for any size wedding, large or small, indoor or outdoor.

Can you perform for a ceremony with full Catholic Mass?

Yes, we are very experienced in playing the catholic mass, and can be the sole musicians or work with the church organist or any vocalist you may have hired. We can also recommend an organist or vocalist if you are looking to hire one.

When will you start playing/ when will you finish playing?

We will begin playing 20 minutes before the start time of your ceremony and play while your guests are arriving. We will play your processionals, anything you need during the ceremony, your recessionals, and then one postlude piece while your guests are exiting.  We can also play for your cocktail hour.

Can you play outside?

Outdoor weddings are very beautiful, but they can pose several problems for string musicians that need to be taken into consideration. If you are having a wedding outdoors, we require a covered or shaded area (covering or trees which provide shade) to play under to protect our instruments from being damaged by the sun. Also, playing on the beach can pose serious danger to string instruments because of sea spray, sand, sun, etc. If you are having a beach wedding, we will be happy to play near the beach, but not directly on the sand. Last, be aware that string instruments can not tolerate even a drop of water, so if there are wet conditions the musicians must be either completely covered by a tent or indoors. Because of the damage that cold air can do to our instruments, we can not play outdoors in temperatures lower than 65 degrees.

Will you help me select my music?

Mary and Marco Lucchi would be happy to meet with you before your wedding to go over song selections and ceremony details. We can give you suggestions and answer any questions that you may have.

What will you wear?

The men will wear tuxedos and the women will wear long black.

Can you play popular or other styles of music?

We have a large repertoire including classical, show tunes, pop music, love songs, tangoes, fiddle music, and more. If you request a piece that we don’t have, we may have to arrange it for String Quartet, which will carry an extra fee.
